Key facts about your baby
- Your baby officially becomes a fetus and will lose the embryonic tail.
- Your baby. measures about 2.3cm (nearly an inch), the size of a grape and weight has also doubled and is now around 2 grams.
- Your baby has all the essential body parts, though not fully developed and is looking more like a tiny human!
- The eyes are completely formed now with eyelids that will remain fused for several weeks.
- Your baby’s heart has now fully divided into four chambers and the heart valves are developing
- The shape of the head is looking more like a little baby’s head. All major joint, shoulders, elbows, wrists, ankles, and knees are working. Even earlobes are present at this early stage in your pregnancy.
What’s happening with you
- Your uterus is now about the size of a small melon.
- You may have started experiencing ptyalism – which is the production of excess saliva.
- You are probably starting to feel bloated with a small amount of weight gain,(more than likely just water retention at this point.)
- You may also feel some dizziness caused by the increase in your blood circulation or by low blood sugar.
